Today is considered to be the 100th anniversary of US Naval Aviation. 100 years ago today, the first two aircraft (Curtiss A-1s) were requisitioned for the Navy for $25,000. 
These are T-34Cs on the flight line in Las Cruces, NM. Happy Centennial, friends! 

I was there not too long ago…
